New York State Summer Writers Institute at şŁ˝ÇÂŰĚł

‌The New York State Summer Writers Institute welcomes over 100 students from across the country to study with a distinguished faculty of award-winning authors in residence. Events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted. ‌

Facilities Updates

Transformer repair power outage planned 

‌From 6 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 5 (rain date is June 6), there will be a power outage as Facilities Services replaces the electrical transformer behind the dining hall. The following buildings will be affected: Jonsson Tower, Barrett Center, Wait, Howe/Rounds, Wilson Chapel, Starbuck, Scribner Library, Case Center, Wilmarth, McClellan, Penfield, and Kimball. The dining hall will have backup generator power.

‌Culvert replacement under Perimeter Road 

‌Traffic will be restricted to one lane on Perimeter Road near the McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center back service entrance while contractors replace a culvert. Work began Tuesday, July 1, and will take approximately three days to complete. 

‌

‌Black top resurfacing on Perimeter Road 

‌Resurfacing of Perimeter Road between the Falstaff’s entrance and the Service Entrance will occur between Thursday, July 10, and Tuesday, July 15, weather depending. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane during this process. 

‌

‌Arts Quad road closure 

‌Arts Quad roadway will be closed to vehicles from 7 a.m. Sunday, July 20, until 5 p.m. Monday, July 21, for a video shoot in and around Zankel Music Hall.

Wi-Fi connection renewal

‌After 8 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, all devices connected to şŁ˝ÇÂŰĚłSecure will ask users to trust a new Wi-Fi security certificate. When prompted, select “Trust” (Mac) or “Connect” (Windows).

‌şŁ˝ÇÂŰĚłShop hours

‌In observance of the July 4 holiday, will be closed on Friday, reopening at 10 a.m. on Monday.

‌Athletics facilities closures ‌ ‌ ‌

‌The Williamson Sports Center and McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center will be closed on Friday, July 4. 

‌

‌‌Tennis courts hours and construction ‌ ‌

‌The outdoor tennis courts at McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center will be closed for the summer due to construction. The indoor courts will be open from 7 to 9 a.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, throughout the summer. can be made on the . ‌
