Paul Arciero, professor of health and human physiological sciences; Karen Arciero, senior instructor of health and human physiological sciences; and Steve Ives, associate professor and associate chair of health and human physiological sciences, coauthored a research study that was recognized in in the Obesity Journal.

Robert Boyers, professor of English and editor of Salmagundi Magazine, spoke at several institutions about his book, 鈥淢aestros & Monsters: Days & Nights with Susan Sontag & George Steiner.鈥 His most recent appearances were public conversations, conducted by the poet Rosanna Warren, author Jim Miller, and British writer David Herman at The New York Institute for the Humanities in Manhattan, The New School for Social Research, and London Jewish Book Week International, respectively.

Marta Brunner, college librarian, gave a presentation on Skidmore's Racial Justice Learning Community model and her current learning community, "Libraries, Incarceration, and the Humanizing Power of Information," at the hosted by the American Library Association's Social Responsibilities Round Table.

Ruben Castillo, assistant professor of studio art and area head of printmaking, has been selected to be part of the for 2024. This inclusion brings a stipend for research, professional development, and research guidance, and an exhibition at the Print Center's Chelsea gallery on June 6.

Elizabeth Dubben, lecturer, associate director of arts administration, and coordinator of the Entrepreneurial Artist Initiative; and David Howson, senior teaching professor and Arthur Zankel Executive Director of Arts Administration, gave a presentation, "Starting from Scratch: Building an Arts Entrepreneurship Program at a Small Liberal Arts College,鈥 at the annual convening of the Society of Arts Entrepreneurship Education.

Heather Hurst, professor of anthropology, gave a talk, 鈥淎 Geography of Thrones: Xultun's North Acropolis,鈥 for the Annual Aveni Lecture of the Native American Studies Program at Colgate University. Hurst's artwork of the Bonampak murals is currently on display at the Science Museum of Minnesota the exhibit 鈥,鈥 which runs through September, 2024.

Rebecca McNamara, associate curator at the Tang Teaching Museum, co-presented "," with computer scientist Ursula Wolz as part of the Textile Talks weekly program.

Laurie Rabinowitz, assistant professor of education studies, co-authored a book chapter with David Salinas '25 and Sophie Levy '25. The chapter, "Antiracism in Child Development: Analyzing Our Own Raced Play Experiences," was published in the Rowman and Littlefield text, 鈥.鈥

Bernardo Rios, associate professor of anthropology, participated in the Wenner-Gren Foundation's symposium, "," in Mu帽opedro, Spain. He presented a working paper titled "Basketball in Mexico and the Philippines: The Transnational Racial and Ethnic Embodiment of Sport.

Edgard Soares, visiting assistant professor of health and human physiological sciences, co-authored a research paper, "Post-exercise heart rate recovery and its speed are associated with resting-reactivity cardiovagal modulation in healthy women," in , with colleagues from University of Brasilia.
